There’s something happening for all Dinghy Sailors almost every day during the season:
- Monday – Club racing (improvers & advanced) mix of inside and outside starts depending on tides
- Tuesday – Social Sailing
- Wednesday – Sunset series – Cadets
- Thursday – Ladies social sailing
- Friday – making the most of crewing & helming opportunities on the keelboats
- Saturday – Social sailing
- Sunday – Club Racing (Improvers & advanced)
Our racing, training and social sailing are run solely by the volunteer members of the Club; it is a requirement that if you participate in any of the above you must also contribute by volunteering to help. New volunteers are always welcome regardless of experience and training can be provided if necessary. Please do not hesitate to contact dinghy.captain@dabchicks.org to express your availability to help.
We look forward to seeing you on the water!!!

Ladies Social Sailing – Thursday Evenings
We can’t offer qualified instruction but there are people happy to take the inexperienced out for a sail. We always have safety boats on the water whilst we are sailing. The first evening meet is ashore, in late April / early May, for registration/introduction and a chance to meet and ask questions. The first sailing evening is in early May, weather permitting, ready to launch at 18:30.
Please come prepared with warm waterproof clothing, a buoyancy aid and either water boots or old trainers. You must be a member of Dabchicks Sailing Club to take part in Ladies Sailing but we do offer three taster sessions which will give you the opportunity to decide if sailing is for you. Dabchicks have boats to hire for members.
We are a very friendly group who encourage and support each other. We always finish the evening with a drink and a few nibbles and lots of laughs about the fun we have had on the water
