Diamond Fleet Training Weekend

Saturday 8th May/ Sunday 9th May 2021
Held at Mersea Boating Lake, Rewsalls Lane, West Mersea, CO5 8SX

Aims of the training are:

1) To introduce children to sailing on a small and manageable area of tide-less water.

2) To start the Dabchicks seasons instruction for Diamond Fleet.

Sessions will be fun, safe and are primarily designed to boost confidence.

Entry is open to all new Diamond Fleet sailors with a confirmed place in Sunset Series.

Sailors are required to attend either:

Saturday 8th May

10:00am – 5:00pm*

or

Sunday 9th May

10:00am – 5:00pm*

*You should aim to arrive for your session 30 mins in advance and be rigged, changed and ready to sail at the start of the session.

The cost will be £15 per child.

Each child needs a separate entry, complete the form and payment below.

  • Boats must be insured for third party risks.
  • Boats must have been inspected at the Sunset Boat inspection with all issues identified having been resolved before the first session.
  • Boats may be left at the lake overnight.
  • Boats are left at the boat owner’s own risk.
  • At least one parent/guardian must be in attendance with their child for the full duration of all the sessions. Children cannot be left unaccompanied at any time.

Parents are reminded the car parking charges apply at the lake. However, we are asking all sailors to take out one months membership at the lake to enable them to sail on the lake during May.  This membership includes parking for one car during May.  Therefore, provided that membership is in place for 8th/9th May you will have free parking for the car registered in your membership of the lake.

Parents must ensure that they make necessary arrangements for car parking at the site as parking fines operate at the site and number plate recognition cameras operate in the car park.
