Registration for Social Sailing

Participants Declaration

I understand that any water-based activity can be dangerous and I participate in these activities at my own risk. I also understand that no responsibility is accepted for loss of or damage to any of my property whilst at the Dabchicks Sailing Club (DSC) or in participation of any of their activities.

DSC provide support boats and coaching support for organised DSC events only but neither their presence nor effectiveness can be guaranteed. I understand and appreciate that neither coaching support nor support boats are provided in respect of any use of club boats or facilities other than as part of organised events and that in the event of my undertaking any sailing or water activities at any other times there may be no-one else on the water and no-one in the clubhouse.

I also understand that sailing is an extreme sport carried out on the sea and thus carries obvious and apparent risks. I understand that conditions can change rapidly and capsizing is a real possibility. I understand that I must wear a buoyancy aid and if I am not a confident swimmer then I will wear a life jacket and inform the Fleet Leaders.

I confirm that I am fit and capable of taking part in the activities organised by Social Sailing at the Dabchicks Sailing Club, including being able to get back into the boat following a capsize.
